Frequently Asked Questions
How Can We Help?
We’ve compiled a selection of commonly asked questions below. We’re always working to improve our answer archive, so please let us know if you can’t find the information that you are looking for and we’ll do our best to help.

What are the club sizes?
Each club has 10 or fewer children which include my children. Because we use a family homeschooling style, each club includes children from ages 7-13 with varying abilities. And we like it that way. That's social learning at its best.
How do I know which club is right for my child?
Our academic clubs (reading, writing, math, public speaking, etc.) can be based on where you feel your child needs the most support. Our thematic clubs (crafting, food science geography, origami, etc.) can be based on what your child loves or wants to explore. HCEC is a safe place to learn and grow.

What learning approach does HCEC use?
First and foremost, our clubs are faith-based, fun-filled, and family-style.
-
We believe that enrichment should be meaningful so we teach to make learning relevant to children's lives.
-
We believe an engaged learner learns more so we teach to make learning irresistible and funny.
-
We believe that memorization is a necessary foundation for learning so we teach to make repetition 'sticky'.
-
We believe that we learn with our whole self (no matter the specific learning style) so we teach to every learning style.
How much does this cost?
We know that many homeschooling families are one-income households, so affordability was key. That's why each 2hr club is only $360 per 12-week session. We did the math for you. That's only $15 an hour for engaging and results-driven academic instruction with a 20 yr experienced and caring teacher! And this fee covers your child's instructional materials. We thought about that, too so you wouldn't have to.
Where are you located?
Our drop-off program is held in our smoke-free family home. Our home is located in Lancaster, South Carolina in the Walnut Creek community off of 521 near Indian Land.
